A New Game Plan for Parish Renewal

Revitalize Your Parish by Rediscovering the Mission to Make and Grow Disciples

A Special Event on November 21, 2024 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, downtown Kansas City, with Jim Jansen, Director of Evangelization for the Archdiocese of Omaha and author of A Clear Path, How to Make Missionary Disciples in Your Parish

The Game Has Changed

Learn How to Rewrite Your Playbook

Once upon a time, passing on the faith was simple.

Parents, grandparents, and the entire community came together to share their relationship with God.

In 2015, Pope Francis remarked that “we are not living in an era of change but a change of era.” Why don't the old ways work anymore?

Jim Jansen believes the answer is simple—the game has changed.

He offers this example. What if, at the halftime of a football game, the field turned to ice, and the opposing team came out of the locker room wearing skates and carrying hockey sticks.

No amount of determination or great play-calling will help you win. You would need a whole new playbook because you're playing a completely different game.

It’s not just about pushing harder. It’s about adapting to a world that doesn’t play by the same rules.

That’s where the Church finds itself today.

The ways we operate were created in a time when society stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the Church. It’s clear those days are gone.

The culture isn’t just indifferent; it’s often downright hostile.

The solution? A new game plan.

Jim says we need to rediscover the practices and methods that advance the mission and let go of what holds us back.

It's not about changing theology or putting a new spin on old strategies. It’s about rethinking *everything* we do through the lens of our core mission—making disciples.

A Clear Path of Discipleship is a process for helping pastors and lay leaders do that.

Jim Jansen has helped numerous parishes rework and redefine their ministries by rediscovering the mission to make and grow disciples. Learn how on November 21st.
