Getting Started with Catholic Christian Outreach

Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) is an organization that helps parishes evangelize by journeying with people through programs and being empowered by the Holy Spirit.

CCO calls this process Intentional Accompaniment (IA).

CCO Parish coaching empowers parishes to use Intentional Accompaniment to make missionary disciples and build a movement that can multiply and grow a missionary culture.

Isaiah 49

We recommend you consider using Isaiah 49 as a way to evaluate CCO for your parish.

It’s a FREE program done with a live presenter via Zoom. It will be offered in multiple sessions each week for six weeks starting the week of January 13th, 2025.

Sessions are 1 hour and 30 minutes in length, presented by a CCO staff member over Zoom, and contain small group and large group time facilitated in person in each parish.

Topics include:

  • Understanding The Lost – Knowing who you are seeking to reach.
  • Mobilizing The 1% – All you need is a few missionary disciples.
  • A System For Intentional Accompaniment – No one does anything alone.
  • The Indispensable Action of the Holy Spirit – Engaging with the principal agent of evangelization.
  • Skills For Intentional Accompaniment – Leading people towards conversion.

Please use this form (link below) to provide your ideal day of the week and start time choices.  Using your input, CCO will establish the days of the week/times for the sessions that will be available

CCO Faith Studies

If you are ready to start the full CCO process please contact us to get started. There are several options to explore. Together we can figure out what’s right for you.

You can do the studies on your own

  • CCO has a five-study curriculum of missionary discipleship training and many online resources to help you lead studies effectively.
  • The leader guides are packed with advice and sample answers for every question.
  • They also have videos that walk you through how to lead the studies.
  • Other resources teach advanced facilitator techniques.

Diocesan help

  • The diocese can get you started by training leaders and providing strategies for beginning your parish movement.

Coaching with CCO

  • CCO has parish coaches who have years of experience leading campus and parish teams.
  • We have some funding available for select parishes to help them move from start up to full growth.
  • With coaching, a parish leader meets weekly with a coach who accompanies that leader with advanced training, start-up strategies, implementation advice, study leader training, and occasional live workshops.

Every Catholic a Disciplemaker

  • If you want to activate evangelizers in your parish, we have Every Catholic a Disciplemaker.
  • This free resource developed by our office covers the basic skills of evangelization.
  • Study questions at the end of each chapter can be used for individual or group study.
  • This booklet was influenced by CCO evangelization principles and used their Intentional Accompaniment book as a guide.

The Clear Path Process

  • If you have your 1% identified and want to move forward with structuring your pipeline for raising up missionary disciples, we are still doing Clear Path workshops on a parish-by-parish basis.
  • We do them in two-hour sessions over three weeks on weekday evenings.
  • We can help you identify who to invite and provide follow-up consultation afterward to help with implementation.
