The Way: Programs & Resources

Parent Programs

These programs are required as remote preparation for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation in our diocese.

Bishop Johnston set the ordinary age for preparation and then reception of Confirmation for youth at 6^th grade (See Bishop’s Letter on Implementation of The Way)

• 1^st Grade – Parent-led program: Jesus is the Good Shepherd – Remote Preparation for First Confession
• 2^nd Grade – Parents attend an Invitation Retreat offered by their parish
• 3^rd Grade – Parent-led program: “At Home” Family Retreat
• 4^th Grade – Parent-led program: If U Love Me – “God’s Recipe for School and Family” 10 Commandments Family Kit with guided discussions and activities
• 5^th Grade – Retreat in development (This is not offered yet and is not yet required as part of preparation for Confirmation).
